Illustration Friday: MASK

Twisted, dark, tormented souls like bleak in waiting. Behind all of us hides a mask in which we wear. No matter how horrible or ominous, beneath all its hate...it smiles.

Brow clinched, teeth grinding, holding all its aversion to destroy what is left of our worthless composure. We attempt to hold the beast back. Sometimes it is kept silent...other times unleashed beyond our control.
If you close the door, stand in the hollow darkness and hold a light just below your chin...smile deep, clinch your brow and tell us what you see.
Is it you....or the Dark Mask that hides just past the outer limits of our tormented soul.

"other times unleashed beyond our mortal control", of all the words in your horror recipe, to me those are the most frightening, because they might be true
These pieces are awesome, and I admire your skill, especially the top picture, something out of the deep dark corners of the heart and beyond.

You really seem to be able to reach into the dark recesses of your soul, and at the same time, touch ours.
Very nice work...even if it scares me a little!

This is pretty awesome. Kudos to you for posting this. I had a semi-tourtured soul idea/piece I too was going to submit but (as you saw) went for something a bit more "light" i guess. I seems most people go for things that are cutsey on IF, whic can be cool at times.
